KATRINA RELIEF

Final Report from the PUCC

Katrina Relief and Assistance Committee

In January we reported on the results of Plymouth United Church of Christ’s efforts to assist the Cyprian family. To briefly summarize that report, Plymouth Church was able to provide the following assistance:

¬ Over $5000

¬ Major household appliances including  a stove, a refrigerator, a kitchen table, a dinning room set, dressers,

        bedding, lamps & a television

¬      A computer for the children

After the initial assistance the church provided, we asked the Cyprians to give us a list of small items they needed. Plymouth Church with the help of the Links was able to provide the family with bedding and blinds for their home. In addition, we were able to provide them with some pots and pans and additional comforters, which were recently delivered. The family has expressed their gratitude to Plymouth Church for all of the help.

As we reported earlier, Eric Cyprian was able to find a job working in a retail store in Southfield. Unfortunately, Eric was recently laid off from this job. As you will recall, Eric is a butcher by training and experience and Rita is a cook. If any church member has a lead on jobs for Eric and Rita or a car, please let Claire Neal at  313-823-8678,  David Northcross at 313-863-8251 or Bob Johnson at 248-888-0949 know.  When Eric lost his job, he was unable to keep up the car payments. Please continue to keep the Cyprians in your prayers.
