My Lord and My God, help me to handle the hypocrisy in my life. There is a distance between my faith and my actions. I believe in your word and trust in your grace and mercy. I put my hope in thee. Yet, there are times when I have allowed the pettiness and shortsightedness of others to tempt me to become mean and little in my actions. In my desire not to appear weak, I have lashed out against children and those who are defenseless. In my inconsistency, sometimes I have chosen to lie. Help me to love unconditionally, even when love is not given in return. When I cannot see my way, help me to be strong in my faith. Help me to be so strong that nothing can turn me around. Help me to be so kind, that all will know I am a follower of Christ. Help me to be so loving that hate will wilt. Grant me so much hope that despair will flee like dew in the morning light. Help me to strive for the best, hope for the best and work for the best. Through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray. Amen.
